BATANG—The Kedaireka Platform of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the 2022 Matching Fund Partnership Program between PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) and Diponegoro University (UNDIP), reforested vegetation by planting sea pine tree seedlings on West Roban Beach, Kedungsegog Village, Tulis District, Batang Regency, Saturday (24/9).

This coastal vegetation reforestation is one of the Matching Fund Partnership programs that have been implemented by UNDIP Students who are conducted Student Community Service Program and Internship Program spread across Klidang Lor Village, Depok Village, Ujungnegoro Village, and Kedungsegog Village, Batang Regency which aims to educate and make the public aware of the importance of coastal forests as a function of disaster mitigation, coastal protection and the use of marine tourism. So that it is expected to change the way of thinking of coastal communities from an extractive economy to a creative and value-added economy.

The Matching Fund 2022 program is a program to encourage awareness of the importance of preserving marine resources to support the achievement of the Blue Economy, namely the sustainable use of marine resources to increase economic growth, thereby increasing welfare and employment opportunities while maintaining the quality of the economy and marine ecosystem.

Head of the Matching Fund 2022 Partnership Program Dr. Ir. Munasik, M.Sc. conveyed in his speech that this program was very helpful in implementing the application of coastal ecosystem restoration technology made of concrete by utilizing coal waste, Fly Ash and Bottom Ash (FABA) of Batang Power Plant 2 x 1,000 MW.

"Greening the vegetation on West Roban Beach, Kedungsegog Village is one of a series of Matching Fund programs carried out by Community Service Students and Internship Students of UNDIP in partnership with BPI," said Dr. Ir. Munasik, M.Sc., at West Roban Beach, Saturday (24/9).

The same thing was conveyed by the Head of the Batang Regency Tourism, Youth and Sports Agency, Yarsono, who also said that his party would fully support and will always support the programs carried out by UNDIP and BPI in preserving the marine and coastal environment. Because this is related to the world of tourism, so we will always be present in this program.

"The partnership program between UNDIP and BPI in the 2022 Matching Fund centered in Klidang Lor Village, Depok Village, Ujungnegoro Village, and Kedungsegog Village is very good to implement because it benefits all parties, both academics (UNDIP), private companies (BPI), and the government.  Hopefully this program can continue to be sustainable, the synergy between the government, academia, and private companies.” said Yarsono, Saturday (24/9).

Prof. Dr. Ir. Diah Permata Wijayanti, M.Sc, Professor of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) UNDIP expressed her gratitude to the private company, in this case BPI, who gave trust to academics, collaborated, and partnered with UNDIP. An academic environment that is centered on theory can now also implement its theory in practice, where society and companies are practitioners who have it. This would be even better, if a partnership program like this is sustainable, because the environment will always be maintained. "Furthermore, it is hoped that this partnership program will be further improved, so that synergy will be established and can generate more ideas that are useful for the community and our common good," she said after planting trees on West Roban Beach, Kedungsegog Village, Saturday (24/9).

CSR Senior Manager of BPI Bhayu Pamungkas said that the Matching Fund program 2022 is one of the Kedaireka programs from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in partnership with UNDIP and BPI. This partnership activity shows the good synergy between private companies, universities, and the government.
