Three Years Without Work Accidents, BPI Won Zero Accident Award 2023 from Provincial Government of Central Java

For three consecutive years without any work accidents, PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) won the Zero Accident Award 2023 from the Provincial Government of Central Java. The award was given directly by Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen to BPI HSE Manager Herlan Widodo at the launching of the 2023 Central Java Province Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month "Jateng Gayeng Berbudaya K3" in Dusun Semilir, Bawen, Semarang Regency, Thursday (26/1).
This OHS award is BPI's achievement as the owner of Batang Power Plant which successfully recorded Zero Losing Work Time/Zero Work Accidents/Zero Lost Time Accidents for 3 (three) years from 1 November 2019 to 31 October 2022, with an accumulation of 2,414,474 working hours. This award is given as one of the motivations for companies that have successfully implemented OHS norms in the company.
The award given by Central Java Province is proof of the BPI’s commitment to prioritizing the safety of workers in the workplace. The Deputy Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, in his remarks hoped that all companies would become a safe and comfortable place for their workers and pay great attention to their workers, especially women.
Central Java Province has won the most OHS awards at the national level, including the Best Occupational Safety Governor, 59 Companies with Zero Work Accidents, 125 companies implementing an OHS Management System, 36 HIV/AIDS prevention companies, and so on. So, it is expected that large to small scale companies cultivate OHS well. The government has also deployed 150 inspectors to ensure its implementation.
Chief Technical Officer of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia Akihiro Osajima conveyed his appreciation to the Provincial Government of Central Java for awarding the Zero Accident Award 2023 for BPI’s performance in employee safety. This award is one of the achievements for implementing a good HSE management system and solid cooperation between company management and employees working in the field, as well as in the office.
"It is an honor for us that our efforts and hard work to promote good HSE aspects in the corporate environment have been recognized and appreciated by the Provincial Government of Central Java.
