Successfully Implementing an Occupational Safety and Health Management System, BPI Received a Gold Flag from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower
BATANG - PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) as the owner of the Batang Power Plant with a capacity of 2 x 1,000 MW in Batang Regency, Central Java received a Gold flag for the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OHSMS) from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia. This is an implementation of compliance with PP no. 50 of 2012 concerning the Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health Management System.
The development of OHSMS of BPI began during the operational period and the implementation of external audits by Independent Auditors on March 8-9, 2023. BPI received a score of 95.78% with "Satisfactory Assessment Level" for the category "Advanced Level (166 Criteria)". OHSMS is part of the company's overall management system in order to control risks related to work activities in order to create a safe, efficient and productive workplace.
HSE Manager of BPI, Herlan Widodo expressed his appreciation and congratulations for this achievement. Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a priority and number 1 in the electricity industry. BPI continues to guide and supervise the implementation of OSH in all aspects of the company's activities. Good implementation of K3 will guarantee safe and sustainable electricity production.
"For BPI, worker safety is the main thing to avoid work accidents, while worker health to avoid work accidents is also important to avoid occupational diseases, so that work requirements that must be met, including competency standardization, good workplace and work environment, work procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for those who work in dangerous places, Herlan said.
Herlan added that this award is expected to further spur employees at BPI to always work safely and return home safely. The implementation of OHSMS is based on awareness as a power plant company that has a high risk in its operational activities. The application of OHSMS principles will protect all workers to carry out their duties safely and healthily.
