Bhimasena Power, Batang Power Plant — PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (Bhimasena Power), the owner and operator of Batang Power Plant, has received the 2025 Subroto Award in the category of Human Resource Competency Development for the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector. The award was presented during the Subroto Award Night 2025 held at Hotel Kempinski Jakarta on Friday 24 October 2025. This achievement marks an important milestone and recognition of Bhimasena Power’s commitment to developing superior and competitive human resources in Indonesia’s national electricity sector.
The Subroto Award is the highest form of recognition presented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). Established in 2017, it honors stakeholders who have significantly contributed to the advancement of the energy and mineral resources sector. The 2025 event was part of the 80th Anniversary of Mining and Energy and supports the government’s strategic agenda in strengthening downstream development and accelerating the national energy transition.
In his remarks, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that the national energy strategy is currently directed at creating added value while preparing Indonesia for a clean energy future.
“The development of the national energy sector is focused on creating added value through downstream programs and energy transition. The government is encouraging the reactivation of idle oil and gas wells, the development of gas infrastructure, and the expansion of new and renewable energy as part of the strategy toward Net Zero Emissions,” said Bahlil.
Bhimasena Power’s commitment earned even stronger recognition as its nomination came from Center for Human Resource Development, Electricity, New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (PPSDM KEBTKE) , an ESDM competency certification institution that partners with Bhimasena Power on technical personnel certification programs to meet ESDM–DJK (Directorate General of Electricity) regulations. Bhimasena Power was acknowledged as the most compliant company in meeting technical competency requirements and was also awarded as the best company for fully certifying its internal technical personnel in the electricity sector. This accomplishment demonstrates the company’s dedication to ensuring operational reliability through officially certified professionals.
As a power producer, Bhimasena Power positions human resource development as one of its core operational pillars. The company implements continuous talent development programs ranging from technical competency improvement and leadership strengthening to world-class safety culture initiatives that support safe and reliable power plant operations.
