Supporting World Environment Day 2026, PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia Prepares 30,000 Mangrove Seedlings to Expand and Restore Green Coastal Areas in Batang Regency
Bhimasena Power, Batang Power
Plant – PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) participated in and supported
the 2026 World Environment Day celebrations held at both the Central Java
Provincial and Batang Regency levels on Saturday, 6 June 2026. Carrying the
national theme, "Time to Act for the Climate," this year's
commemoration served as an important opportunity to strengthen concrete actions
and collaboration among stakeholders in addressing the challenges of climate
change.
During the Central Java
Provincial World Environment Day celebration, Central Java Governor Ahmad
Luthfi emphasized that environmental conservation should go beyond awareness
and understanding and must be translated into tangible actions that deliver meaningful
benefits for both the environment and society. Through the theme "Time to
Act for the Climate," the Provincial Government encouraged all sectors of
society to strengthen collective action in addressing climate change,
preserving the environment, and supporting the realization of a cleaner,
healthier, more sustainable, low-carbon, and climate-resilient Central Java.
This commitment was reflected in
a series of environmental activities conducted simultaneously across Central
Java, including in Batang Regency. To commemorate World Environment Day 2026,
the Batang Regency Environmental Agency, together with government institutions,
private companies, academic institutions, community organizations, and
students, organized a tree-planting program in Denasri Kulon Village, Batang
District.
The event was attended by the
Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development of the Batang Regency Regional
Secretariat, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum
(Forkopimda), the Head of Batang District, environmental advocates, personnel from
the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri),
academics, and students. Activities included the World Environment Day
ceremony, symbolic and collective tree planting, and a Zoom teleconference with
the Central Java Provincial Government and the Ministry of Environment of the
Republic of Indonesia.

On the occasion, Rusmanto, Head
of the Batang Regency Environmental Agency, expressed his appreciation to all
stakeholders for their collaboration in supporting environmental conservation
and greening initiatives throughout the regency.
"World Environment Day is
more than a ceremonial event—it is a momentum to strengthen the commitment and
concrete actions of all elements of society in protecting the environment. We
highly appreciate the contributions of various stakeholders, including the
private sector, in supporting mangrove planting and the development of green
coastal areas in Batang Regency. Collaboration like this is essential to
creating a healthier, more sustainable, and resilient environment," he
said.
As part of its support for the
initiative, PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, through its Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) program, has prepared 30,000 mangrove seedlings to support
coastal ecosystem conservation in Batang Regency throughout 2026. Of these,
20,000 seedlings will be allocated for new planting initiatives, while the
remaining 10,000 seedlings will be used for gap-filling and restoration
planting to improve the survival rate and long-term sustainability of existing
mangrove forests.
The program forms part of the
Company's long-term commitment to protecting coastal ecosystems, strengthening
environmental resilience, reducing the risk of coastal erosion, and enhancing
climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. In addition to improving
coastal environmental quality, the mangrove planting and restoration program is
expected to strengthen marine habitats and increase carbon sequestration
capacity as part of broader efforts to support long-term climate resilience.
General Manager of Stakeholder
Relations at PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, reaffirmed
BPI's commitment to being an active partner in environmental conservation and
climate resilience.
"We fully support the
Central Java Provincial Government's call to transform environmental awareness
into concrete action. For BPI, environmental sustainability is not merely a
commitment—it is an integral part of our corporate responsibility in supporting
regional development and climate resilience. In 2026, BPI has prepared 30,000
mangrove seedlings, consisting of 20,000 for new planting and 10,000 for
restoration planting, as our tangible contribution to protecting coastal
ecosystems while creating long-term benefits for local communities," he
said.
He further emphasized that, as a
company operating and growing alongside the people of Batang Regency, BPI
believes sustainable development can only be achieved when economic growth,
reliable energy supply, and environmental stewardship progress together.
"We believe that the
challenges of climate change can only be addressed through strong and sustained
collaboration. Therefore, BPI will continue strengthening partnerships with
government institutions, local communities, academia, and other stakeholders to
build a greener, more resilient, and more sustainable future. In line with our
vision of becoming Indonesia's most reliable Independent Power Producer (IPP),
we are committed to ensuring that reliable electricity generation goes hand in
hand with environmental responsibility and community well-being," Aryamir
concluded.
This initiative forms part of
BPI's ongoing coastal conservation program. Throughout 2025, the Company
planted more than 60,000 mangrove seedlings along the Batang coastline and the
northern coast of Java. In 2026, BPI continues this commitment by providing
30,000 additional mangrove seedlings for new planting and restoration
activities, reinforcing the success of coastal rehabilitation efforts while
supporting long-term climate resilience.
