Bhimasena Run for Whale Shark 2026: Every Step Carries a Message for the Ocean ONE RUN. ONE OCEAN. ONE PURPOSE.
Bhimasena Power – Batang
Runners — PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, in collaboration with the Batang
Runners community, will host the Bhimasena Run for Whale Shark 2026 – 6K FUN
RUN on Sunday, 27 September 2026, at Pendopo Batang Regency. The event invites
the public to combine a healthy lifestyle with a commitment to whale shark
conservation and marine environmental protection.
Under the tagline “One Run, One
Ocean, One Purpose,” the event goes beyond a sporting activity. It also
provides an opportunity to introduce the richness of marine biodiversity and
raise public awareness of the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.
Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, General
Manager of Stakeholder Relations at PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, explained
that the whale shark was chosen as the event’s icon because it represents the
richness of marine biodiversity and has been spotted on several occasions in
the waters around PLTU Batang.
“Through Bhimasena Run for Whale Shark 2026, we want to demonstrate that environmental awareness can begin with simple actions. Running together, gathering together, and sharing the same message to protect our oceans,” Aryamir said.
He added that using sports and
community engagement as a platform is expected to make environmental messages
more accessible to the public, particularly younger generations. Collaboration
with the running community is therefore an important part of creating an event
that combines physical activity with education and environmental awareness.
This spirit is reflected in the
involvement of Batang Runners as the event’s community partner. For the running
community, the event offers an opportunity to channel their passion for sports
into a movement with a broader purpose.
“We are very enthusiastic about
collaborating on Bhimasena Run for Whale Shark 2026. For us, running is not
just about reaching the finish line, but also about how the positive energy of
a community can convey a greater message. Through this event, we want to
encourage more people to stay active while learning about and supporting marine
conservation, particularly the presence of whale sharks in Batang’s waters,”
said Hendrit, Chairperson of Batang Runners.
He added that the strength of a
community can serve as a platform for encouraging broader public participation
in environmental issues.
“We hope this event will bring
together communities, the public, and various stakeholders in a shared spirit.
May the small steps we take together inspire greater awareness and commitment
to protecting our oceans and environment,” he added.
The collaboration between PT
Bhimasena Power Indonesia and Batang Runners also reflects the company’s
commitment to collaboration and building synergies with various stakeholders.
Through this event, sports, community engagement, and environmental awareness
come together in an activity that is open to the public.
In addition to the running
activity, participants will have opportunities to learn more about marine
biodiversity through various educational elements and communication activities
prepared by the organizers.

Shark 2026 – 6K FUN RUN** is free and open to the public and running
