More Liveable Homes, Improved Sanitation: Roban Timur Fishermen Benefit from Home Renovation Program

Bhimasena Power, Batang Power Plant — Having a decent home and a healthy living environment is an important part of family well-being. This is now being experienced by three fishing families in Roban Timur Hamlet, Sengon Village, Subah District, Batang Regency, through the Home Renovation Program implemented by PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI), which was officially handed over on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The handover was witnessed by the Subah District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam) and the Head of Sengon Village.

The Home Renovation Program not only covers improvements to the physical condition of the houses, but also upgrades to sanitation facilities. All program costs are fully funded by PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, with the scope of work tailored to the condition and needs of each beneficiary household.

General Manager of Stakeholder Relations at PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, said the Home Renovation Program is part of the company's infrastructure-focused CSR program, aimed at providing direct benefits while supporting improvements in the quality of life of communities around the Batang Power Plant.

“The Home Renovation Program is not only about improving the physical condition of the houses, but also about ensuring that they provide a healthier, safer, and more comfortable living environment. Therefore, the assistance package also includes the construction or improvement of sanitation facilities, with implementation tailored to the needs of each family,” said Aryamir.

According to him, full funding from the company enables the necessary home and sanitation improvements to be addressed based on the specific conditions of each beneficiary.

“We hope this assistance will provide a greater sense of safety and comfort for the families of Mrs. Salbiyah, Mr. Sutrisno, and Mr. Ali Sodikin. We hope that more livable homes and improved sanitation will support their quality of life and provide greater comfort for their families,” he added.

Subah District Head Muhammad Yasin, S.STP., MM., who also witnessed the handover, expressed his appreciation for the program.

“We thank BPI for its concern for the residents of Roban Timur. This assistance provides direct benefits to the community, and we hope programs like this can continue sustainably,” said Muhammad Yasin.

For the beneficiaries, the home improvements have brought tangible changes to their daily lives. Salbiyah, wife of Royadi, a fisherman from Roban Timur, expressed her gratitude for having a more livable home.

“We are very grateful for this assistance. Having a more livable home gives our family new hope. We hope that with better living conditions, we can go about our daily lives more comfortably and continue striving for a better future for our family,” said Salbiyah.

For Sutrisno, another fisherman from Roban Timur, the improved condition of his home has brought greater peace of mind to his family, particularly during the rainy season.

“We are grateful that our home has been repaired according to our needs. Now we can live more peacefully and happily without having to worry about rainwater entering the house or flooding during the rainy season,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sadi, representing Ali Sodikin, another fisherman from Roban Timur, expressed his gratitude for the assistance received.

“We are very grateful and thankful. Parts of our home that previously needed repairs have now been improved, making it more comfortable for our family to live in,” said Sadi. (***)
