BPI Shares Blessings for Communities in the Holy Month of Ramadan

BATANG—In the month of Ramadan, a month full of blessings, PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) makes this holy month a momentum to share blessings and strengthen social engagement with the community around the Central Java CFPP 2 x 1,000 MW in Batang Regency. BPI has again conducted a socio-cultural and environmental support program for the community.

 
Social programs during Ramadan carried out by BPI include the distribution of infaq (donation), Al-Qur'an recitation for 5 villages, commemoration of Nuzulul Qur'an (commemorating descent of the Qurán) in 8 villages, Khatam (read through to the end) Al Qur'an, compensation for orphans, providing rice assistance as much as 650 packages and 185 groceries packages. Previously, BPI had also carried out a series of activities to welcome the holy month of Ramadan with the villagers around the Central Java CFPP project. As well as painting places of worship, cleaning prayer equipment by involving 9 Micro Enterprise Group (MEG) laundry and spraying disinfectants in mosques and prayer rooms.
 
Chief Operational Officer of BPI, Yoshimitsu Fujii said that this activity was aimed at easing the burden on community who are currently still facing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the high prices of basic commodities. With this unstable economic condition, local communities are enthusiastic about welcoming this annual program.
 
"We will always give attention to the environment and the communities in the villages around the Central Java CFPP. This activity is also one of the implementations of the aspirations of the communities in the villages around the company. This activity has been carried out and is running smoothly, it is hoped that it can be useful for the community in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan and welcoming Eid Al-Fitr," said Yoshimitsu Fujii.
 
In the implementation of all activities, BPI coordinates with the village to involve local village communities who have local businesses for the procurement and distribution of social benefits and food packages. This is expected to help the economy and the needs of the community during the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
"We also involve and empower BPI's CSR assisted groups, namely 9 MEG scattered in villages around the location of the Central Java CFPP. As for the location of the activity, we coordinate and synergize with the local village government because they know better the needs of each village,” explained Yoshimitsu Fujii.
 
It was further explained that the program of activities in the holy month of Ramadan and welcoming Eid al-Fitr has been carried out since 2017. As well as the program of painting places of worship and religious schools, as well as cleaning the environment around places of worship and prayer equipment. Meanwhile, for this year, BPI carried out painting in prayer rooms and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) around the Central Java CFPP construction project. This includes carrying out a Covid-19 prevention program by spraying disinfectant with a fogging device in prayer rooms and mosques in villages around the Central Java CFPP.
