Support the Creation of Smart Villages in Batang, BPI Donates Books and Holds Teacher Training

BATANG - The commitment of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) in an effort to educate the youth generation is again proven through the holding of workshops and book donations for schools in the Batang Power Plant area. This event was held at the Hall of Library and Archive Office (Disperpuska) of Batang Regency on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, and was opened by the Head of Disperpuska, Suprapto, who has just served since August 18, 2023.

In his remarks, the Head of Disperpuska of Batang Regency, Suprapto expressed his gratitude for the health of all parties present.
"On this occasion, I, on behalf of the Batang Regency Government, really appreciate PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia which has made a significant contribution in efforts to educate the people of Batang Regency," he said.
Facing the current reality, which is marked by a demographic bonus, where the number of the younger generation is greater than the older generation, Suprapto realizes the importance of preparing superior quality Human Resources (HR). The challenges that arise in the digital era due to the influence of gadget devices, said Suprapto, make the younger generation less involved in reading activities. In fact, the importance of reading in understanding history and enriching knowledge cannot be ignored.
Although the technological era brings the temptation to switch from reading to other entertainment when using smartphones, Head of Disperpuska Batang still believes that books have an important place in this world.
"Therefore, I encourage the culture of reading interest to be re-energized, especially through education, to change the way of thinking of the younger generation so that they prefer reading activities," he invited.
Meanwhile, BPI's Senior CSR Manager, Bhayu Pamungkas, explained how BPI has been actively involved since 2016 in improving the quality of education. Of the total 28 BPI target schools, 6 of them have achieved national achievements, 2 at the district level, and nine schools in Batang Regency have won the Adiwiyata award at the Central Java provincial level.
He emphasized the importance of providing training to teachers to improve the quality of service to students.
"The literacy program run by BPI, involving book donations and capacity building of library managers, has had a positive and significant impact. This can be seen from the increased use of books and internet facilities in literacy programs, especially in Village Libraries that collaborate with BPI," he said.
The main objective of this program, he said, is to support the vision of the Batang regent in realizing the "Smart Village Program". In achieving this goal, BPI collaborates with Disperpuska Batang to develop literacy through book donations and capacity building of library managers at various levels.
This event was attended by participants from various schools around the company, including Adiwiyata and non-Adiwiyata schools, as well as several schools such as MI Roban Timur, MTs Darul Hikmah, and Taman Bacaan Roban Barat. With continuous cooperation, BPI and its people continue to move forward towards a more educated and intelligent future.
