Real Action of Collaboration between Batang Power Plant and Multi-Stakeholder to Guard the North Coast of Java

Bhimasena Power, Batang Power Plant – Roban Beach Coast was again planted with thousands of mangroves in a series of Mageri Segoro programs organized by the Batang Regency Environment Office, Forestry Service Region IV Pekalongan Branch and fully supported by PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia. The activity, which was attended by the Marine Fisheries and Livestock Service, Tulis Sub-district Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam), the community of journalists, students of SDN Kedungsegog 02 and NGOs, took place on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at West Roban Beach, Kedungsegog Village, Tulis Sub-District.

Getri Daswati, The Principal of Kedungsegog 02 Public Elementary School, said that this activity was very interesting for the students who were also present to plant today, because the students could see the shape of mangrove plants.

"The students are very enthusiastic about participating in mangrove planting activities because this adds to their experience and knowledge as early as possible to protect the coastal area together".

The Head of Kedungsegog Village, Rusbad, appreciated the Mageri Segoro program organized by the Central Java Provincial government involving various parties in Batang Regency. The planting of mangroves is very helpful to fence coastal areas to reduce the impact of abrasion.

"We hope that we can then get direction and training to maintain mangroves that have been planted along the coast. Thank you also for the support of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia which has been a good neighbour for us in Roban".

The Head of the Forestry Service Branch Office Region IV Gunawan, revealed that the Mageri Segoro activity initiated by the Central Java Provincial Government has been carried out in Batang Regency since June 2025 and received full support from PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia by providing 50,000 mangrove seedlings for Batang Regency.

"Until now, 10,000 avicennia and rizhophora mangroves have been planted along the coast of Batang Regency involving multi-stakeholders in Batang Regency who will be jointly maintained and beneficial for conservation, fence the sea from abrasion and provide an economic impact that prospers the community," said Gunawan.

Chief Operating Officer of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, Naofumi Yasuda, said that PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia as a strategic partner of the government is committed to planting 50,000 mangroves in Batang Regency. The activity, which was organized by Batang Regency Environment Office, Forestry Service Region IV Pekalongan Branch, also involved students of Kedungsegog 02 Public Elementary School to instill awareness of preserving nature from an early age and in the future can become agents of change who care about the environment. We also believe that to increase the awareness of the wider community about the importance of maintaining coastal ecosystems requires synergy with the media for that, today fellow journalists from various media are also involved in planting together.
