Celebrate Eid Al Adha, BPI Again Distributes Sacrificial Animals
BATANG—Welcoming the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijriyah, PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) has again distributed sacrificial animals to villagers around the Batang Power Plant 2 x 1,000 MW. In 2023, BPI will distribute 11 cows and 12 goats to the community of 12 villages around the project power plant by involving village administration, community leaders, religious leaders, and stakeholders.
BPI's CSR Eid al-Adha program is the company's annual program as a form of social responsibility to the community. This program has been going on since 2013 until now and is running according to input from the local village government, namely the Villages of Ujungnegoro, Karanggeneng, Ponowareng, Kedungsegog, Kenconorejo, Simbangjati, Tulis, Beji, Depok, Sembojo, Juragan, and Wonokerso.
BPI Chief of Operational Officer Yoshimitsu Fujii explained that the sacrificial animals which were distributed to the village community around the companypower plant, were through procurement in partnership with the Berkah Jaya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) Ponowareng Village which is a cooperative assisted by BPI's CSR program. So that this program really involves many elements of the surrounding village community.
"We don't just distribute sacrificial animals, but we also have to think about empowering the community and the economy. By purchasing it through KSP Berkah Jaya Ponowareng Village, this shows the company's commitment to involve the community more.” said COO of BPI, Yoshimitsu Fujii, after handing over the sacrificial animals, Tuesday (27/6).
It was further explained that for the health condition of the sacrificial animal, BPI also asked the Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Service of Batang Regency to carry out a health check. In general, too, sacrificial animals must comply with Islamic Sharia rules, including the type of livestock that meets a minimum age, and is in good health when slaughtered.
It is hoped that this program will really benefit the village community around Batang Power Plant 2 x 1,000 MW, and at least it can encourage community enthusiasm in celebrating Eid al-Adha, fostering a sense of gratitude and love for Allah SWT, thus strengthening, and increasing Islamic Brotherhood.
