Bhimasena
Power, PLTU Batang
- PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI), once again showed its commitment to
environmental preservation and community empowerment by organizing a workshop
entitled “Capacity Building for Village Waste Bank Managers BPI Partners
Continue Inorganic Waste Recycling Creation and Socialization of Waste Cooking
Oil Utilization,” which was attended by 13 assisted Village Waste Banks spread
across Tulis and Kandeman Districts and attended by the Chairperson of the

Service (DLH), Tombo Village Government, Batang Village Waste Bank
Communication Forum (FKBSD). This activity took place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025
at Sidawung Koffie, Tombo Village, Batang Regency.
This
activity is part of Bhimasena Lentera Lingkungan's CSR program, which has
continuously encouraged community-based waste management since 2015. This
workshop presented inspirational speakers who have successfully transformed
inorganic waste into high economic value art.
General
Manager Stakeholder Relations of PT BPI, Aryamir Sulasmoro through CSR &
Community Relations Manager Ahmad Lukman, said that the Waste Bank is an
innovative solution in effective and sustainable waste management.
"We
believe that Bank Sampah is an effective tool to encourage active community
participation in managing household waste independently. By saving recyclable
waste, people not only learn to sort waste, but also gain economic
benefits," said Aryamir.
The
Chairperson of the Batang Regency PKK Movement Team Faelasufa Faiz Kurniawan
expressed her hope that all participants could benefit and be able to implement
waste bank management. In addition, the Batang Regency PKK also initiated a
used cooking oil processing program which began in two sub-districts as pilot
projects, namely Tulis and Kandeman. In the future, TP PKK hopes that all
sub-districts in Batang can follow this path.
"Currently,
waste bank management is a very urgent thing to pay attention to because of the
planned closure of landfills in various places. With the existence of waste
management at the village level and thank God it has been assisted by BPI, the
hope is that it will not only be a place of infrastructure but also an
activity. In addition, we also have an interesting breakthrough to process used
cooking oil which can be used as an additional source of income and as an
environmentally friendly solution," said Faelasufa Faiz Kurniawan.
The
workshop included strategic training on waste segregation campaigns from
households, skills enhancement in inorganic waste processing, and making
creative products from used materials. In addition to being an educational
tool, this activity is also a space to share experiences and innovations
between Bank Sampah Desa to strengthen networking and collaboration.
The
first session presented the socialization of the importance of collecting and
selling used cooking oil as part of the circular economy delivered by Dian
Pokja III TP PKK Batang In this session, participants were invited to
understand that used cooking oil that has been discarded can be recycled and
become a source of additional income, while supporting environmental
conservation efforts.
The
participants also participated in practical training on making crafts from
inorganic waste, such as flower vases from paper and plastic waste in the
second session which presented Tazuz Salimah as a resource person who has
successfully run her business. This training aims not only to improve creative
skills, but also to provide added economic value to waste that was previously
considered worthless.
BPI
always supports all Village Waste Banks under its guidance to be more
independent and innovative in managing waste in a sustainable manner, as well
as contributing significantly to creating a clean environment and improving the
welfare of the community around PLTU Batang.
