Bhimasena Lentera Infrastruktur Supports the Sustainable Watershed Collaboration Movement Program through Groundbreaking Paving Made of FABA Batang Power Plant in Tombo Village
Bhimasena Power, Batang Power Plant - PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) held a groundbreaking or the first installation of paving made of FABA (Fly Ash and Bottom Ash) from Batang Power Plant in the amount of ±8,000 units with an area of 175 square meters in Sidawung Koffie Tombo Village, Batang Regency together with the Batang Environment Agency, Forestry Service Branch (CDK) IV Pekalongan, Bandar Sub-district Head and Tombo Village Head on Tuesday, May 27, 2025
This activity is part of the Collaborative Villages Movement for Sustainable Watershed (DAS Lestari) which aims to control potential forest destruction and support the community's economy which has started in 2023 together with the Environment and Forestry Agency of the Central Java Provincial Government. This activity also actively involves the community and other related parties in land rehabilitation activities through the planting of MPTS (Multi Purpose Tree Species), exploration and nurturing of forest plants, economic, social, cultural and community counseling in the fields of environment and forestry. Exploration and nurseries of forest plants with the community will be used to replant forests that are starting to be critical so that they are expected to maintain their conservation function.
BPI Chief Operating Officer, Naofumi Yasuda represented by CSR & Community Relations Manager, Ahmad Lukman expressed his gratitude to the Tombo Village Government, Batang Regency Government and the CDK IV Pekalongan for the support and cooperation provided up to now.
"We hope that our efforts can realize economic, social and cultural improvements in Tombo Village and become a showcase for the use of FABA for the welfare of the community," he said.
The FABA paving that will be installed at Sidawung Koffie is expected to increase the comfort of customers who want to enjoy a cup of coffee and local tea that is the pride of Batang and enjoy the natural beauty in Tombo Village. The paving installed is the result of collaboration between BPI and the Batang Regency Government through Perumda Aneka Usaha. Currently, Perumda Aneka Usaha has conducted research to utilize FABA as a substitute for raw materials in the manufacture of paving that has met standards.
"We would like to express our gratitude to all parties who have supported this cooperation program. We hope that this program can provide great benefits for the community and the environment," added Naofumi Yasuda.
The Head of DLH Batang, represented by the Head of Environmental Management Division of DLH Batang, Ila Dhiama Warni, said that this program is in line with the local government's policy in controlling potential environmental damage. Paving made of FABA, which is a Non-B3 waste, is a green material that can provide economic benefits to the community.
"We strongly support this program and hope that other programs for waste management and sustainable environmental programs can be implemented together," he said.
The Head of CDK IV Pekalongan, Gunawan, also expressed his appreciation for this program. BPI consistently implements the DAS Lestari program and other environmental programs.
"We strongly support this program and hope to continue to collaborate with BPI in implementing sustainable environmental programs so that the forests in Tombo Village achieve conservation functions," he said.
The Bandar Sub-district Head, Nasrudin, also expressed his appreciation for this program. "We strongly support this program and hope to be an example for other villages in Batang Regency. We hope that BPI can continue to support development in Batang Regency," he said.
The Head of Tombo Village, Mustajab, expressed his appreciation for BPI's support in this program, and it is hoped that Tombo Village will become a Tourism Village with the concept of Eco-Agro-Tourism and become a Climate Village (Proklim).
"We are very grateful for the assistance provided by BPI. This program will be very beneficial for the people of Tombo Village and we hope to continue to collaborate with BPI to improve the welfare of the community," he said.
