Commitment to Improve Education in Batang, BPI Collaborates with the Batang Regency Education and Culture Office Conduct Merdeka Curriculum Workshop for 28 Schools in Batang

BATANG - In its effort to contribute to the advancement of education in Indonesia, PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) held a Workshop on Analysis of Learning Objectives and References in the Merdeka Curriculum in Simbangjati Village, Tulis District, Batang Regency, on Thursday (7/9/2023). In addition to the ranks of PT Bhimasesa Power Indonesia and representatives of the Batang District Education Office, the event was also attended by teachers from 28 schools in the region.

CSR Senior Manager of PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, Bhayu Pamungkas, in his speech underlined the importance of the role of education in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global action plan aimed at realizing a prosperous society, reducing social inequality, and protecting the environment.

"Education plays an important role in improving the quality of human resources. The educational process should be an interesting and enjoyable activity for all parties involved in it.  In order to support education in Indonesia, the government has rolled out various school development programs, such as the School Literacy Movement, the Character School Movement, and the Fun School Movement. The year 2023 is an important moment because teacher development must be adapted to the Merdeka curriculum currently implemented in elementary level educational institutions. BPI collaborates with the Batang Regency Education and Culture Office and 28 BPI partner schools to organize various training and workshops in accordance with the theme of the independent curriculum. This is done to increase resource capacity in schools in the region,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SD Negeri Simbangjati, Salamah, expressed her gratitude to BPI for holding a Workshop on Analysis of Learning Objectives and References in the Merdeka Curriculum. "I hope that this event is really useful for the teachers who attend," she hoped.

The same thing was also expressed by the Education Regional Council of Tulis sub-district, Prapto Suwandi. According to him, this kind of activity is rarely done for free. However, thanks to the support of PT BPI, this event became free and provided additional expertise certificates for teachers. "This year, BPI has 8 workshop programs to improve teacher human resources in 28 schools in Tulis sub-district, Kandeman sub-district, and 2 schools from Subah sub-district," he added.
Appreciation was also shown by the Secretary of the Education & Culture Office of Batang Regency, Budiono. He said, so far PT BPI has cared about the world of education in Batang Regency, especially in the Batang Power Plant area. BPI support, he said, is very useful in the era of independent curriculum. "This activity is very useful for us in improving the quality of teaching teachers. BPI's support is extraordinary, especially in the world of education which is now based on an independent curriculum," said Budiono.

This workshop activity is highly anticipated by teachers who have not received a workshop from the government but have been carried out by BPI for the Implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Interestingly, the speaker in this workshop was Nur Saadah, who has been involved since the beginning of the formation of the Merdeka curriculum.

This workshop is a clear proof that PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia has a commitment to support quality and sustainable education in Indonesia, especially in Batang Regency. Through collaboration with various parties, BPI play an active role in realizing a better future for the nation's next generation.
