BATANG - Hundreds of affected farmers receive social compensation from PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) on Thursday (2/6) at Karanggeneng village, Batang, Central Java. Social compensation is a temporary assistance program for farmers affected by the Batang power plant and expected to be an alternative short-term solution due to the livelihood changes. This activity is one of BPI's social commitments to the community.

BPI has also prepared a replacement land to affected tenant farmers as a long term solution. A number of community development programs have also been developed and will continue through CSR activities. Construction of the power plant is expected to be a trigger for further growth in investment and the economy, especially in Batang.
