Bhimasena Lentera
Ekonomi: Realizing Food Security and Farmer Welfare, BPI Holds Rice Harvest Ceremony
at Batang Power Plant's Replacement Land
Bhimasena Power, Batang Power
Plant - PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) held a Rice Harvest Ceremony at
the Replacement Land area in collaboration with the Batang Regency Food and
Agriculture Office, Muspika Tulis, Muspika Kandeman, village heads, BPI
management, and Replacement Land Farmer Group on May 6, 2025, in Sembojo
Village.
The Replacement Land program is a
social mitigation initiative prepared by BPI for farmers whose land was
affected by the construction of the Batang Power Plant. The program spans
approximately 32 hectares and was launched in 2016. For over 9 years, BPI's
replacement land has supported the livelihoods of farmers and ensured they
continue their agricultural activities.
BPI's Chief Operating Officer,
Naofumi Yasuda, stated that the Replacement Land program is a tangible example
of the company's commitment to supporting agriculture and improving community
welfare through the CSR Program Bhimasena Lentera Ekonomi.
"We appreciate the hard work
of the farmers who have produced a bountiful harvest. We hope this harvest will
provide additional income for farmers and support local food security. We hope
this collaboration will continue and benefit all parties," said Naofumi
Yasuda.
The Head of the Batang Regency
Food and Agriculture Office, represented by the Head of the Food Crops
Division, Rini Diana Anggriani, S.P. M.Si, expressed great appreciation for
BPI's contribution as a private sector partner that works with the government
to support farmers from planting to harvest and purchases the produce for
distribution to underprivileged communities.
"This is a manifestation of
national food security, which is part of President Prabowo Subianto's program.
The President's policy on rice harvest absorption by Bulog at a minimum price
of IDR 6,500/kg is expected to be synergized with BPI's presence in Batang
Regency, serving as a model for other companies," said Rini Diana
Anggriani.
BPI's General Manager of
Stakeholder Relations, Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, added that the Rice Harvest
Ceremony, part of the Bhimasena Lentera Ekonomi program, would harvest rice
from one hectare with a projected yield of approximately 4.5 tons of grain. The
harvest would be purchased by the company to improve farmers' welfare and
distributed to underprivileged communities to achieve food security through
stunting prevention and extreme poverty alleviation programs.
"This is our commitment to
facilitating the upstream program by providing land, agricultural facilities,
and intensive assistance. To increase farmers' income and support food
security, we innovate by preparing downstream marketing and absorption of
agricultural produce. Additionally, the 32-hectare replacement land includes
other crops like corn, peanuts, and cassava," said Aryamir H. Sulasmoro.
Sartono, a representative of the
Replacement Land Farmer Group, expressed gratitude to BPI for supporting
farmers since 2016 and purchasing the harvest directly, providing direct
benefits to farmers in the replacement land area.
"Thank you to BPI for
assisting farmers since 2016. We hope this harvest will benefit the community
in Batang Regency," said Sartono.
BPI has implemented the
Replacement Land program since 2016, based on the Batang Regent's Decree No.
660/404/2016 regarding Location and Recipient of Replacement Land for Farmers
Affected by the Construction of the Central Java Power Plant 2 x 1,000 MW,
