Bhimasena Power, Batang Power Plant – PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI) took part in the
success of the “Mageri Segoro” Program initiated by the Central Java Provincial
Government, which achieved a MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) record for
the largest simultaneous mangrove planting activity in Central Java, held
across 17 regencies/cities and centered in Kendal on Wednesday, October 15,
2025.
In this initiative, BPI planted a total
of 60,000 mangrove trees along the coastal areas of Batang and Kendal Regencies
as part of the company’s commitment to environmental conservation and coastal
ecosystem sustainability.
The Mageri Segoro Program is a
collective movement involving the government, businesses, and communities to
preserve coastal areas through massive mangrove planting. The program aims to
prevent coastal abrasion, strengthen coastal ecosystem resilience, and improve
the welfare of coastal communities in Central Java.
The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad
Luthfi, expressed his appreciation for the involvement of all elements of
society, local governments, and businesses in the Mageri Segoro movement, which
has brought Central Java to achieve a MURI record.
“The MURI record we achieved today
belongs to everyone who contributes to preserving our environment, especially
the coastal areas of the 17 regencies and cities in Central Java Province. By
‘fencing the sea,’ we hope the shoreline will not be eroded by waves. Let’s
make mangrove planting part of our culture,” said Ahmad Luthfi.
“After planting together, let’s also
take care of the mangroves regularly. I urge the regents and mayors in the 264
planting zones to conduct patrols every three days, led by their respective
Environmental Agencies. Hopefully, by December 2025, there will be **two
million mangrove trees planted and thriving,” he added.
The Mageri Segoro Program, in addition
to combating erosion and abrasion, has also educated communities to plant in
their surroundings while boosting the local economy,” Governor Ahmad Luthfi
concluded.
The Deputy Regent of Batang, Suyono,
emphasized that mangrove planting is a crucial step to restore coastal lands
affected by tidal flooding and abrasion.
“Today we are carrying out the
Governor’s directive as part of the Mageri Segoro program, which has also
achieved a MURI record. In Batang Regency alone, there are **11 planting sites
with a total of 57,000 mangrove seedlings,” said Suyono.
“We strive to prevent abrasion from
spreading further. Currently, about 350 hectares of coastal land in Batang are
affected by tidal floods and cannot be cultivated. With this mangrove planting,
we hope the land can recover and benefit the community,” he continued.
“I also thank various companies,
including PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, which through their CSR programs have
set a good example in fostering maritime environmental ecosystems. This
collaboration will have a positive impact on the sustainability of coastal
community life,” added Suyono.
Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, General Manager of
Stakeholder Relations at PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, stated that supporting
the Mageri Segoro Program reflects BPI’s strong commitment to sustainable
business practices.
“We believe that economic growth must go
hand in hand with environmental conservation. Through the planting of 60,000
mangroves, we aim to contribute to protecting the coastal ecosystem of Batang
and to support the provincial government’s program,” said Aryamir H. Sulasmoro.
“As the owner and operator of the Batang
Power Plant, BPI will continue various greening and environmental management
initiatives around our operational areas as part of our corporate social and
environmental responsibility,” he added.
