Collaboration Between Batang Power Plant and TP PKK to Develop the Tombo Coffee Value Chain for National & Global Markets

Bhimasena Power, Batang Power Plant – Batang Power Plant owned by PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI), in collaboration with the Batang Regency Family Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK), held the MSME Quality Improvement and Empowerment Program for Coffee Farmers in Tombo Village, Bandar District, on Sunday, 23 November 2025, at Pendopo Sidawung Coffee. The program was attended by 50 coffee farmers and 15 members of the Batang Regency TP PKK, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of local coffee through value chain strengthening and sustainable farming practices.

The training featured two main speakers: Fritz Januar, Owner of Panna Coffee, who presented on Enhancing Capacity in the Coffee Industry Value Chain; and Bayu Iryanto, Manager of SwaraOwa, who discussed the Potential of Conservation-Based Coffee. Their sessions highlighted the importance of proper processing, environmental balance, and success stories including Reza, a local farmer whose coffee has successfully reached international markets.

The Chairwoman of the Batang Regency TP PKK, Faelasufa M. Faiz Kurniawan, emphasized that Tombo Village holds great potential to become a leading coffee-producing hub. She praised the community’s character and the visionary leadership of the Tombo Village Head, noting that both have fostered a strong spirit of independence. During the event, the TP PKK also provided 30 coffee-drying tarpaulins as a form of direct support and highlighted the growing market opportunities available to Tombo farmers.

“Successful people are those who are willing to learn. I hope today’s material will truly be implemented,” she said.

The General Manager of Stakeholder Relations at PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, stated that the program reflects Batang Power Plant’s commitment to creating a positive impact on surrounding communities.

“We are committed to being a reliable power plant that contributes added value to the region. Through our CSR programs, we support coffee development as a strategic economic potential for Batang Regency,” he said.

He also stressed that economic growth must align with environmental protection, encouraging farmers to maintain product quality and adopt sustainable cultivation practices.
