Planting 500 Trees Colors the Commemoration of Indonesia Tree Planting Day & KORPRI Day 2025 in Tombo Village
Bhimasena Power, Batang Power Plant — Environmental restoration efforts in Batang Regency were reaffirmed through the Joint Tree Planting Ceremony under the Sustainable Watershed Program (DAS Lestari Program), organized by the Regional Forestry Branch (CDK) Region IV with support from PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI), which operates the Batang Power Plant. The activity involved 170 participants from government, corporate, and community elements to commemorate Indonesia Tree Planting Day (HMPI) and KORPRI Day, centered in Tombo Village on Saturday (29/11/2025).
The event was attended by various stakeholders, including the Head of Central Java Environmental and Forestry Office (DLHK) Widi Hartanto, S.T., M.T.; Head of Batang Regency Environmental Office (DLH) Drs. Rusmanto, M.Si; Head of CDK Region IV Gunawan; Forest Stakeholder Administrator (APH) East Pekalongan State Forestry Public Corporation (PERHUTANI) Sugeng Bowoleksono; Bandar Police Chief Iptu Bagus Prioatmojo; Head of Tombo Village Mustajab; and GM Stakeholder Relation BPI Aryamir H. Sulasmoro. The cross-agency presence emphasized the strong shared commitment to restoring the upstream ecosystem of Batang Regency.
A total of 500 tree seedlings were planted during this activity. The plant types chosen are conservation species typical of mountain forests, such as Hantap, Rostania, Plalar, Pasang, Kayu Babi, Gintung, Sarangan, Nogosari, Damar, Puspa, Gondang, Wuru Jenggel, Nyampuh, and Jamuju.
The Head of Central Java DLHK, Widi Hartanto, expressed appreciation for Batang CFPP’s support in consistently backing government programs, including the DAS Lestari program. Protecting the upstream area means protecting the environmental future of Batang Regency and Central Java Province.
“Planting trees means planting the future. What is done today in Tombo will bring benefits to the people of Batang broadly,” he added.
Forest Stakeholder Administrator East Pekalongan PERHUTANI, Sugeng Bowoleksono, whose management area includes land in Tombo Village, expressed both appreciation and support for this activity.
“Some of the land in Tombo Village is under PERHUTANI management, so this planting activity aligns well with our efforts to maintain forest sustainability. We welcome this collaboration as it can strengthen vegetation cover and the ecological function of the upstream area,” he said.
Head of CDK Region IV, Gunawan, emphasized that the seedlings were the result of mountain forest explorations in various locations.
“The forest trees we planted today are results of joint exploration between CDK IV and Batang CFPP from Mount Lawu, Mount Ungaran, Mount Kemulan, Petungkriyono, and Tombo. These seedlings have undergone an acclimatization process in greenhouses, making them more ready to be planted in the field,” he explained.
GM Stakeholder Relation BPI, Aryamir H. Sulasmoro, stressed that tree planting is a long-term ecological investment.
“Planting 500 seedlings today is a concrete step to restore the Tombo landscape and the upstream Batang area. BPI will continue to support watershed rehabilitation through collaboration with the government and local communities,” he affirmed. (**)
